Artist Statement
Giverny, 2003 - I have spent most of my adult life as a corporate lawyer. Over the past six years I have discovered my passion for painting and have spent this time immersed in painting. I have studied with Charles Kello in Norfolk, Va. at the Kello Academy of Oil Painting, where I have worked with Monet’s palette and impressionistic techniques to develop my own ever-evolving style.

My work is a reflection of my lifelong passion for nature and color. My paintings reflect the beauty, light , freedom and joy I experience in nature. I strive to bring to life my love of nature and the extraordinary in the ordinary. Many of my subjects are scenes you pass on the road everyday. Painting outside and photography are an integral part of my creativity practice and allow me the time I love to spend in nature.

As most artists, I am a student of art and life, always reaching for another way of expressing all that I see and feel in nature. For me painting is about the confluence of life experience and the vulnerability of the soul. I believe that nature and color offer transformative opportunities for all of our souls and the human spirit. My use of color and my expression of the beauty in nature is the essence of what I bring to my paintings and seek to express.
